Shirley Elena Ingarra, 83, of Provo, died on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, in West Jordan, Utah. She was born January 23, 1929, in Old Forge, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Beatrice and William Keeler. She married Jerome "Jerry" Peter Ingarra, October 10, 1947, in Towson, Maryland.
Shirley was educated in schools in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She was employed by Kress Department Store in the Emily Post Cosmetics Department and then moved on to the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company in the Cashier Department. Her next employment was with Burrell's Press Clipping Company, which brought her to Provo, Utah in 1977. When she ended her employment with them she found her final employment for 19 years with Riverside Country Club in the Salad Department and Housekeeping where she retired.
She was a member of the Elks Club and St. Francis Catholic Church, Provo, and then St. Joseph the Worker, West Jordan.
Her survivors include one son, Vincent Ingarra, Seattle, Washington and one daughter, Lucille Thomas Fernandez of West Jordan, Utah. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, three brothers and one sister. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, one brother and four sisters.
Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. Monday morning, November 26, 2012, at the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, in West Jordan. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2012, at the Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State Street, Provo, under the direction of Walker Sanderson Tribute Center, Provo.
A luncheon will follow directly after burial at the Elks Club, in Provo.
